Turkish Rambo Returns!

Cult Film Classic Reborn with Live Score, Voice Acting, and Sound Effects
June 27–28, 2025 | Hollywood Theatre | Portland, OR
PORTLAND, OR – After a 10-year hiatus, the legendary live cinema event “Turkish Rambo” blasts back onto the big screen for two nights only — June 27–28, 2025 at Portland’s iconic Hollywood Theatre.
Part cult film screening, part theatrical spectacle, and part rock concert, Turkish Rambo is an outrageous multimedia performance experience. Audiences will witness the notorious 1980s Turkish action flick Vahşi Kan like never before — with live voice actors, Foley sound artists, and an original score by Portland-based composer Justin Ralls, performed live by a powerhouse ensemble of Portland musicians.
A delirious, no-holds-barred remix of the American action hero mythos, Vahşi Kan stars Cüneyt Arkin as a one-man army delivering justice in the most gloriously over-the-top fashion. Directed by Çetin İnanç — infamous for his breakneck editing and bootleg bravado — it’s a cinematic oddity that has to be seen (and heard) to be believed.
This revival marks the triumphant return of a show that first blew Portland audiences away a decade ago. With brand-new music, an upgraded production, and the same wild energy that made it a fan favorite, Turkish Rambo is back—and bigger, louder, and funnier than ever.
Justin Ralls, known for his visceral and imaginative scores, leads a band of Portland’s top musicians in a brand-new live soundtrack that punches, blazes, and sneaks its way through every epic scene. Combined with live dubbed dialogue and on-the-spot sound effects, the result is a live-action remix of pure cinematic mayhem.
