House of Scordatura: Tuned Differently. Live, Local, and Boldly Oregon.
House of Scordatura was conjured over spicy food, strong drinks, and a shared creative itch that couldn’t be ignored. Founded by Ron Blessinger, Ann Medellin, and Danny Rosenberg – three Portland artists working at the edges of music, animation, and storytelling – the idea was born from a restless impulse to make something wild, collaborative, and deeply Oregonian. We bring together original animation and experimental music, all created, composed, and performed by Oregon artists. House of Scordatura exists to amplify bold ideas, defy artistic boundaries, and share genre-blurring work with curious audiences across the state.

Sonic Sanctuary
House of Scordatura Brings Morton Feldman’s Six Hour Masterpiece to The Old Church on Election Day — a continuous, come-and-go performance of String Quartet No. 2 benefiting the Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition
Sonic Sanctuary will be performed in full by the House of Scordatura String Quartet. Feldman’s String Quartet No. 2 (1983) is widely regarded as a modern minimalist masterpiece: contemplative, meditative, and breathtaking in its sense of timelessness.
Audience members are welcome to come and go as they need, for ten minutes or the full six hours. There is no intermission, no fixed seating, and no correct way to attend. All proceeds from Sonic Sanctuary benefit PIRC, whose work supporting immigrant communities in the Portland area continues regardless of the day’s outcome.

Animated Oregon
Animated Oregon is House of Scordatura’s signature project – a bold and imaginative series of original animations paired with live music, all created by Oregon-based composers, animators, and performers. Each piece tells a story rooted in the spirit of our state, reflecting the landscapes, cultures, and creative voices that make Oregon unique. Curated by award-winning animator Zak Margolis, a faculty member at Pacific Northwest College of Art, the visuals are as captivating as the music, forming a rich, multi-sensory experience that is uniquely Oregon.
